How much does a band go for? Roughly.

It really depends I have seen them from $4500-10,000!!!!

anywhere from 4,000 - 8,000

My band was 5,800 for 9 pieces, which includes ceremony & cocktail hour.

You are going to pay top dollar for a band especially a managed band! I go a band for about 1500 un-managed (they are hard to find!)

yeah, that is what i found as well...

unless you 'know someone' or take a chance on newbies, that's the range you will run into around here...

really depends on number of pieces. lowest quote we got was $3800 for 5 pieces, highest we got was $7200 for 9 pieces (that didn't include cocktail hour for $7200!)

i went the same route but didn't get THAT good of a deal

We're paying $4500 for an 8 piece band for just the reception and an extra $1000 for a classic trio for the ceremony and calypso band for the CH. They cut me a little bit of a deal since I booked all 3 from one company. The ceremony music was supposed to be $1000 on its own.

$4200 for a seven piece band- 1 musician for cocktail hour. The reception is 6 hours total

Mine is $3400 for 5 pecies, 4 hours, self-managed.
I didn't price the managed bands I saw, b/c they weren't what I was looking for.
the 2 jazz trios I considerd were 1000 & 1300.

Mine is ~ the same. And that is a 'discounted' winter price...
I went to a # of showcases before I decided. And some of them were completely horrible...makes you wonder how they can get top $$ for it too.
