I am about to book the Kenny Ford Band of the Hank Lane Company but I am weary about the price. But if I know they are worth it then I will do it. Anyone ever seen them in person or has anyone booked them yet?

Re: Band Advice
I'm sorry I haven't heard of them but bands are pricey. I'm paying $7,500 for mine. They average btwn $5-$8K. Ahhh the price for live music

Re: Band Advice
My parents saw them at a wedding and they absolutely loved them. They are very expensive though. HOWEVER, I heard from a fellow music teacher i work with that Hank Lane does 'screamers.' What that means taht the band you hired isn't the same band that shows up to your wedding and you are left screaming, lol. So when you choose a band make sure you sign somethign taht has the exact people you want t perform in your wedding.
Let me know how it goes cause i'm still debating on my band choice.

Ive never heard of them either, but I added a ryder to my contract with my band. Its has all the members who are in the band now & in case of any changes the contract is null,,

Re: Band Advice
I had the Bobby Attico band from Hank Lane and they were beyond my wildest expectations. They literally had the dance floor packed. The lead female singer who we had was a different person than they had when we originally booked them (I know this because I recognized her from a different band I saw in the planning process) and it didn't make a bit of a difference. As a matter of fact, I think she was better than the original female singer.
The point I'm trying to make is that professional wedding band members change jobs just like people in any other occupation, so it should be expected that you may not have all of the same exact members at your wedding that you saw in a showcase.

Re: Band Advice
I would suggest you go see them live. I would not book a band without that. CDs and DVDs never do live music justice.
Hank Lane is one of the more expensive choices out there. For my money, I would have to hear them live.

I had such a hard time booking them without every seeing them live but we just had a gut feeling that they would be great. They turned out to be absolutely amazing. Worth every penny.

I'm sorry, I don't know that band. But I am using Soul Revival and would highly recommend them. They are around the other prices people have mentioned. For me, it's important to see them live, either at an actual wedding (that's how we found them) or at a showcase. I believe that they are having a showcase soon, you should check it out. www.soulrevivalband.com HTH!!

Re: Band Advice
i'm planning on a dj for my wedding (my fiance's a raver, what can i say), but while doing research i heard that some woman had her hs jazz band do it. supposedly it just cost her a small donation to their music program too. i dunno if that's something that appeals to anyone else, but i thought it was creative and figured i'd share. bay shore high school has a really good music program (shameless plug for her old high school) and a few different types of bands (jazz, wind ensamble, orchestra, etc). even if you don't want that, students always cost less than professionals and can be just as capable (esp. if you're just having them at the ceremony to play you down the isle.

Re: Band Advice
You definitely do not need to see Kenny Ford live to be sure that they'll be awesome! They are worth every cent!!! When I went in to meet the booking person she played a CD recorded live at a wedding, and let me tell you, the real thing lives up to and surpasses the CD. I know it can be nerve-wracking, but all Hank Lane bands have such a good reputation, and they know their customers expect the best from them, especially since they charge a lot! You will NOT be disappointed!!!!
