Band Contract Question

Band Contract Question

Does this sound normal to you ladies?

I asked our band to put in the names of all of the band members into our contract that way I know on the day of our wedding we will have the same band members as the ones we watched on the DVD. They put in the names in this format: First name, Initial of last name (e.g., Joe S., Mike R., etc).

I just asked them to write out the whole names, and hopefully they won't give me a problem... but am I right to question this, or is this a normal practice in the band industry?

TIA!

Re: Band Contract Question

The band industry is full of substituting people. I think it's totally appropriate to ask them to put the names in, so long as their general band is bigger than the people you saw on the DVD. For the bands I'm looking at, I happen to know that they only employ a certain number of people, so they don't substitute. But, everyone in the band industry knows that there are bands that do substitute. If you are uncomfortable with it, don't book it. Maybe you can post the band name on LIW and girls can say if they've heard anything shady about them... For example, I know the Hank Lane band makes a business out of switching band members.

Re: Band Contract Question

DEFINATELY GET THE FULL NAMES!!!! My brother used that band for his wedding and they were incredible but they did substitute two of the band members. They still sounded great but at the prices you pay for them you should have the exact people you booked.
