Hi all, I am working within a small budget, however I would like to know the estimates for a band?
I'm having a small reception (50-60ppl) but I dont know if that matters, I would really love a band but I dont think it is doable on my budget.
I am hoping one of you wonderful brides can give me an idea of what one costs?
I dont want to go to a consult because I will get my hopes up just being there. Thank you!!!!

Most bands average anywhere from $800-$1000 per piece. We're using Code Bleu.

most bands are going to cost u round 7000-8000. I booked peat moss and the fertilizers which are considerably cheaper

just wanted to say that aside from the cost, a band for that small amount of people might not be the best idea, we're having like 160, but our venue is kinda small, and our BM advised us to do a DJ instead, bands are overwhelming in smaller spaces.
i'm assuming u will be having a smaller space as well, so u may want to take that into consideration.....
don't wanna pee on ur parade, but it'll save u lots of $$ too to go with a DJ.....JMO!

ita...that is a good price range to go by.
i also looked into Peat Moss, The Touch and Soul Revival, all were about $5k, i didn't book any of these but heard they are all good.

Thanks everyone, as far as the venue, it could definitely work with a band, there's enough room. However, I think the price is just wayyy too much.
But I would still like to have something like a pianist play for ceremony and then for the cocktail hour. that shouldn't be too expensive, right?? Here's hoping...

We are having a band. We booked The Zoo. They are awesome, my friend had them at her wedding, which was great because we didn't have to go any research. They cost $5,500. They also come with a DJ. Check out the website.

The cheapest band I found was about $5000 and they went all the way up to $12000. FM me for more info.

We booked Code Bleu by the way. They were $6600 and i got them to play for an extra hour (viennese) for $7000 even.

I was told that a steel drummer for CH would cost about $700 ... i can only assume that a pianist would be approx the same ... then again, you know what happens when you assume

I used The Modern Age band. They are very talented musicians who do this because they love it, and it shows. the dance floor was packed the entire night and im still getting compliments on the music. They even played the piano for an hour during the cocktail hour. I only had their male singer, but they also have a female singer that you can book. And to top that off, they were very affordable. Most bands I got a quote from were a LOT more money, and in my opinion not worth that amount.
If you contact tell, tell them Nicole recommended you. John is the person in the band that usually books the events.

i have no advice on bands for you unfortunately but i can say that if you figure out that you cant afford it, i think a great option is to have a dj and maybe get 2 or 3 live elements which would be less than a band still and add ALOT and you would still have something live.
i had a percussionist and LOVED IT.
maybe you can get a singer, keyboard player and sax or percussionist or something. they also can play along to the dj music
