Ive been listening to a ton of bands lately and sometimes I really like the singers and sometimes I really like the band(never both combined)--but I noticed that VERY often the band members are different than the pictures on the website and even through friends who have made recommendations. Like it seems that TImes Square Orchestra has a different female singer than they had in a wedding my friend saw them at last year....or did that lady just dye her hair?? How do you know that what you see is what you get? I dont want to have a sucky singer becuase I thought I was having one I really liked when I sign the contract. Did you guys notice this? Any band thats good and not changing??

Re: Band Member Question....
Well in the 2 years since I have booked my band Renegade I haven't noticed a change but unfortunately when you sign the contract especially if it is a long time beforeyou are getting married things change & they might have to change the contract. I know in my contract they have the right to do that if they need to. You have to hire a band that you are comfortable with & trust because in the end it is their reputation on the line so I don't think they would replace someone with someone that *****. Then again I'm not sure. If you haven't checked out renegade do...they usually have a showcase once a month their website is liparamount.com. The other band that liparamount has arcadia is also suppose to be very good.

Re: Band Member Question....
The band we are using, Soul Revival, has had the same members for years. I saw them at a friend wedding last summer and then at a cousins wedding later and the singers and musicians were the same too. And they are the same in the pics and on the cd. I agree that it is important to have the singers that you initally hear and like. Their website is www.soulrevivalband.com if you want to check them out

Re: Band Member Question....
In my case, I hired a band led by a specific bandleader. I think my contract states the number of band members and the instruments they play but not the names of the band members individually(ONLY the leader because it is HIS band). If you use a reputable band, they shouldn't pull the bait and switch. However, accidents happen and emergencies occur in peoples lives. A drummer might break his hand and thus needs a replacement. As long as the caliber of your band is not sacrificed, then I wouldnt worry too much. If the ENTIRE band is different, then there would be cause for concern. But just keep in mind, band line-ups do change when people break off to do their own thing - like perhaps start their OWN band.

Re: Band Member Question....
a lot of bands that are under big companies have different people.. times square orchestsra is always the same people from what i understand. maryanne.. the band leader.. same person, different hair. they were amazing for our wedding and learned a few songs for us. by far our favorite vendor. if there is a particular band leader that you like, id try and get it in the contract..

Re: Band Member Question....
we have written on our contract the # of band members as well as their names, however we are also aware that stuff happens, and someone might change, hopefully not, but it is possible. I think you just have to go with your gut, keep looking til you absolutely love a band, this is one area that can make or break your wedding imo
