Band nerves

Band nerves

FH and I went to listen to bands the other day and were blown away by what we heard. But he wants to have a basis of comparison before we book anything so we are seeing another company and the bands THEY have to offer on Tuesday. We are going back to the first company on Wednesday and will more than likely book the band we want. I have my heart set on one band and I am afraid that we may lose the date by the time we see them on Wednesday. Though my wedding date is not a popular one and virtually NO business will be open til next Tuesday anyway, I am still a bundle of nerves. Can someone pour me a drink?

If there is a good shot that you and FH will book this first band, why don't you see how much it is to put a deposit down for your date? If it is $500, but you really are looking at other bands just to cover all your bases, then it is likely you will not lose your deposit. This way you don't have to worry and can enjoy your weekend.

First of all that's a hard sell. They should hold the date for one week w/o a deposit. Ask them to do that..any reputable company will do that..

Leslie, BREATHE!!! Just relax and take it easy!! Like you said, businesses won't even be open til Tuesday next week so I don't think you really have anything to worry about. Again like you said, it's not a popular date so I highly doubt it will book up before you get a chance to see the other band. I know it's hard not to stress over it, just get your mind on something else and enjoy the weekend in the meantime!!

Re: Band nerves

Heres the deal. We heard three bands from one company that each had our date available on Tuesday. One band was better than the next and were priced on levels.

FH and I went without my mother (who left band choice up to us even though she is paying) in order to weed out bands we didnt like and save time. FH is an analyst/project manager and researches things to death at the expense of my blood pressure

Money isn't really an issue as far as music goes. He wants to go to another company to look at other bands to make sure we made the right choice - that is his right and I respect that. He has told me and knows that we will end up signing the band who we liked the best this past Tuesday - unless who we see next weeks COMPLETELY blows us away. The band leader we already met with did my sisters wedding and even though they are pricey, my mother would sign with NO problem because she knows she is getting quality and the party will kick butt. She knows music is more important to us than any other aspect and that is where we want to spend the $$$ (comparatively speaking with catering taking up a greater portion of the budget)

I know I shouldnt worry but this is who I am. This could be easy but for me it isn't.

Re: Band nerves

Ask to have them hold the date! They will

My band/company held it for over a week til we decided for sure...

Who are you thinking about hiring?

I am a looney tune. I know. Too superstitious to say who I am choosing from yet. We also didnt tell the guy which of the three bands we wanted in order to give my mom the courtesy of hearing all three before we signed anything.
