I went to a bridal showcase this weekend and saw a band and dj perform. There are pros and cons to both. I was just wondering what you guys think. Thanks for your comments.

I went with a band. I just like live music better and the band I booked sounds so much like the artists/bands whose songs they're playing. Some bands can be cheesy though.

I personally prefer a band but I got a DJ. I think bands are classy looking BUT sometimes, when you get a bad band, it can ruin everything. That's when a DJ is good- because you get the real song but the con in a DJ is that if the music stinks, it can ruin the night.

I prefer a DJ b/c you can hear all types of music and I also believe more ppl will be able to dance b/c DJ's can mix music up well. You can get a DJ w/a Percussionist to get that live band feel. I think FM ent has good prices.

A good band is always really nice, however, we are having more of a young crowd so for my wedding we are doing a dj. I like both though

DJ but only b/c a lot of my song choices are very rare and I don't know if the bands would be able to learn them......its just easier w/ the DJ.

definitly dj for fh and i. in my opinion its a hell of a lot cheaper, so it will save $$$, theyll be able to play a variety of music to satisfy everyone.

Im actually going through the same problem. I would love to have a band but Im affraid not only of songs not being able to be played but they seem to be alot more expensive then I thought. A good band runs at least 10 grand. The DJ is probably a better way to go. My engagment party DJ was fabulous but I dont think he has the lighting equipment and the plasma screens I want for my wedding. Could anyone out there recommend a great DJ like that??
I hear Body Rock is pretty good??
