Band or DJ?

Re: Band or DJ?
It depends on who you are inviting. My wedding has many older people, so we are going with a band.

I am having a band! Timepiece from Franklin Wayne! I am super excited for the band. Nothing compares to live music. BUt..thank goodness mom is picking up the tab on this one otherwise it would be DJ for us.
Re: Band or DJ?
A band without a doubt. Live entertainment will get everyone up and dancing. I'm having Soul Street, they played Billy Joel's wedding. I spent a bit more than the average band but it is the entertainment that makes the party and this band knows how to entertain.
Re: Band or DJ?
I would have both ideally. A band is classier, but I also love hip hop and don't really want a band covering my favorite snoop dogg song at the end of the night.
Re: Band or DJ?
I would get a really famous club DJ who I wouldn't have to spell out half the songs I want to play for him to understand the music I want!

I like dj's because I've noticed people dance more with dj's.
Re: Band or DJ?
We went to Skyline Orchestra's showcase tonight to hear CODE BLEU perform. They are AMAZING!!! My FH is very picky and he loved them! They played all styles of music...so we booked them! So...I would say, if you can find a good band...get the band! However, bands are a lot more money. It would suck if you spent all of this money on a band and they couldn't play all of the songs you like. If you can't find a good band, i'd say stick to a dj. GL!
Re: Band or DJ?
I would (still) have a DJ because I love contemporary music and because you can have such a variety. With a band, the music doesn't sound the same as the original song and you are limited to what's in their repertoire. You could have a favorite song and they wouldn't be able to play it.
Re: Band or DJ?
Without a doubt a band. There's nothing better then the sound of live music to make you want to get up and dance.
Re: Band or DJ?
i prefer DJs...i like hearing a song exactly how it should sound...but that's JMO!
Re: Band or DJ?
dj .... more varierty ...non stop music ( bands neeed a break ) .... and ppl feel more comfortable requesting songs
Re: Band or DJ?
Band.... no question! There is nothing like live music. Also DJ's always tend to play stuff way too loud and make it too 'clubby' with the level of noise and the selections that they usually choose which really alienates and frsutrates older guests who have to shout to be heard across the table.
Re: Band or DJ?
Definitely a DJ. I like hearing the song by the actual artist, and I like a variety of music, so I don't feel a band could cover the entire selection I'd like played.
Re: Band or DJ?
DJ, I want to hear the music as it is....Ive seen some amazing bands at weddings but I prefer a DJ
