I would prefer a DJ this way I can hear the songs I want to by the actual artist but FH likes the idea of band because he says it's more personal. What are you girls going to do?
Dj... Bands are nice.. Just not for me.. especially whn we're gonna be playing anything from 80's to old school 90's to salsa to reggeton =)
i orginally wanted a band... fh wanted a dj... we decided that a dj with a percussionist would be best so we wenrt that route... im kinda glad bc my cousin is having a band for his wedding and i wont wanna seem like im copying lol
That's what I was thinking! FH is really into music so I wanted him to make this decision and for it to be his wedding project, but now I'm second guessing it! lol
we are getting a band...it wa an easy pick for us because we are rock n rollers...lol we saw our band play at one of my bms wedding and honestly..they played every type of music that you listed and it sounded Amazing! To me..theres just something about a live band that really makes a wedding more exciting..but thats jmo. I have been to plenty of dj-ed weddings that were great to so i guess that just depends on who you hire. Theres good and bad in every category so i would definitely work with referrals.
Bands are good but you don't get as many songs as you would with a DJ. Bands take breaks and sometimes, you have a hard time understanding what song they are playing if they are not as good as the real thing. We picked a DJ because one- our parent's didn't want to pay for a band and two- the DJ won in the end.
We are having a dj. Bands are not really for me because I love for a song to sound exactly how your used to hearing it. New music is made by using computers and IMO you cant really get the true sound from a band. Bands are better with older songs. I know there are some bands that can def pull itt off but you never know.

We never even considered a band. It was dj from the start for us, I just like the mix of music they can play better than what you get with a band.

not true with all bands and the breaks..in my contract its states 4 hours of continuos music..no breaks...![]()

make sure thats not continuous in that they pop in a CD during dinner...

Thanks for your input ladies. I think I'm going to have to tactfully push for the dj!
imo i just like a dj the music just doesnt sound the same to me but thats not to say bands are not good i just like a dj better..good luck
im having a dj, its cheaper and i can hear the songs played the way they usually are, if that makes sense lol
we were originally going to go with a band but the prices we were quoted were ridiculous so we are going with a dj instead. to make it more personal, we are adding on a sax player to complete the music the dj will play and we are having a string quartet play at the CH and ceremony.
