Can anyone tell me how much their band charges for adding an additional hour to extend the party? I was told 2,000 for the extra hour, I'm wondering if that is average or ridiculous. Thanks:)

I think it really depends on your band... if u didnt hire one yet Id def ask them-- they will prob all say different prices.

We chose a band and are looking over the contract, and they said 2,000 for an extra hour. I was wondering if that is typical of a band to get for an extra hour. They are 8,000 total for the cocktail hr and reception. I thought maybe I should ask them to lower 2,000 for the extra hour before signing the contract.

i am not sure on the amount (bc we signed over a yr ago) but i do remember thinking WOW that is alot and i will def not be going over one min of time!!!!! the amount was over $1k.
if it is something you think you might want it may be cheaper to add an hour on now or to try and negoiate that amount now.

2k seems a bit high to me.... I wouldn't pay more than 1k for an extra hour

we didn't need overtime, but ours was $1825 per HALF HOUR! outrageous!

Thanks for the information...I see it definitely varies a lot! I thought I could possibly negotiate, but I doube they'll go down with the price. Im just surprised they would charge so much when they are already there...I thought it would be easy for them to make extra money since they are already there and set up and that they'd take that into account, but i guess not! Oh well, I guess I wont be having an extra hour at that price:(
