Which are u using? is one better than the other? what is the cost difference?
I was all about getting a DJ until I went to this showcase at the jericho terrace last night and heard two bands play... they were great!!! But I have heard that bands are $$$$$...

We're going with a band...bands are more than DJs, but sooo worth the money (IF you've got a good band), imo.

I am having a band. I like live music AND my dad is was a club date musician for many years and he booked some good musicians for us.

I am going with a band also. I like the sound of live music and instruments. They do cost more, but to me that was one area I wanted to splurge. DJs are great too it depends on your taste! Good Luck!

We prefer DJs - we like to hear the artist who really sings the songs & not someone else's rendition. Its really a personal preference.

I am using Body Rock in Westbury.. It was between them and Shazamm. Both are great, but I didn't want the theatrics. So i chose body rock. But they are doing live music, drums, etc at the cocktail hour. You can have live and dj together.

Originally I wanted a DJ. But Frankie's family used Naked Truth for all of their weddings so I had them and I do not regret is at all. I am sooooooooo happy that they were my band and that I had a band.

We're having a swing dance themed wedding, so the music is very important to us. FH has his heart set on a live band with horns, a stand up bass, etc.! I just wish they weren't soooooo expensive!!! (Bands are much more $$$ than DJs. I think bands can range from 4k - 10k +!)

It all depends on prefernce. I chose a DJ because when I hear the songs I like..I like to hear it exactly as you hear it on the radio. I know there are great bands out there, but I refused to spend thousands of dollars on a band that doesnt play all night. JMO.

Our band is playing all night - from pre-ceremony, thru CH, thru reception. They even stated in the contract that they will not be eating. I would hope that anyone who is paying $$$ for a band, is getting them to play for the entire evening. JMO.
i ultimately chose a dj for cost reasons...and I justified it by saying that I could hear the origianl music...but their are some GREAT bands out there...but they cost money
