Band/DJ Combo

Has anyone booked a band/dj combo. FH wants band, I want DJ. We were looking into both, but arent sure how that will work out. We looked at Elite music. Not many places do combos. Any feedback?!

i wanted a band and fh wanted a dj so we compromised and got a dj with percussionist...

I wanted a DJ and FH wanted a band. Its funny he changed my mind. We booked a band and if you book a good band they could play just about anything.

My Aunt had a band and DJ, the Caleps. They are in Brooklyn. The band played till a certain time and then the DJ played the rest of the night. It was great. I am using just the band for my wedding.

I would check out Bravura. That is who my brother used for his wedding and I am also using. They have a DJ but they also have pianists, singers, percussionists and different types of jazz/ calypso bands. Their work is amazing. They are a little bit pricey, but they are well worth it. Hope it all works out for you

I actually checked out a few places for dj/percussionist combos- Tommy's tunes will give you the best of both worlds with a Dj/Percussionist combo for the reception, an Italian singer, and a jazz trio during the cocktail hour- a bit pricey though.

I'm still going to check out Starlight express though- we saw them @ a showcase and were really blown away-

If you're looking for a great band though- I've heard alot about The Touch. GOOD LUCK!

I was originally think of having a band until i saw starlight express at a friends of mines wedding.... i knew i had to have them... so what i did was got their italian wedding singer and the dj & mc so i can have both of best worlds...

We're doing a band for the cocktail hour and a DJ for the recepetion.

Thanks..I may look into bravura and also after hours..has anyone used afterhours? what did you think?!?
