so this whole time i was set on getting a dj for our wedding..bc i wanted everyone to party and have an excellent time and listen to great beats...
anyway...last night i went to a bridal expo in north jersey and a band played...OMG I was blown away!!!!! loved them!!! it was incredible...they sang every kind of song, from mj, sinatra, rihanna, barry white...everything
so my question is...what is the avg price for a band? do we need to tip all band members? feed all of them? (these are probably silly questions, but hey if its a 9 person band, then that will mean 9 diff tips, 9 meals)
i need advice ladies.

The average prices that ive heard are anywhere from 5000-10000.... a 9 piece band i would guess would run in the more expensive catagory!

Re: bands/djs
avg is 1000 per piece. Some are more some are less, not including ceremony and cocktail music

We're using Code Bleu and felt that their prices were pretty reasonable - we're paying just over $7k for 9 pieces. We do feed them, but they're a recommended vendor for NRC so they eat free. That was my compromise on booking a band - it had to be a recommended vendor so I didn't have to pay for them to eat. And yes, I believe we tip each member individually.

The average cost is around the $7k line. You do need to feed and tip - however my band told me to just feed half and the other half with either share or eat at the cocktail hour. Also, I've heard of some girls bringing in pizza for the band to save on that cost, but that really depends if your RH would allow that.
What band did you hear?

I've seen and recommended to people (who have booked then) the Chris Michaels band.. They are awesome we didn't even know there was a band there that's how good they were.
