Bank quest: Washington Mutual

I was thinking about switching banks, and had heard some good things about Washington Mutual. We have Chase now and do all our banking online. Was wondering if anybody here uses WaMu and if they use their on line banking service and how is it?

Chase seems to charge fees for every little thing and I'm sick of it!

I use WaMu..I love it- I know they have pretty good online banking, but I don't use it (my friend does).. why pay when there are so many free places?

I use WM for a while now - they have a free checking that does not have to any particular balance which I liked - that way I didn't have to worry about going under a certain amount.

I don't bank online BUT I do check my account online. I'm not sure what they charge to do online banking it might be 5$ a month - but when your account is free - 5$ to me is not a big deal. Everyone I know is happy with them

Sounds like they're pretty good. I'm assuming they also have a mastercard/visa debit card?

Comes free with the account - that is basically the only credit card I use - make my life so much easier. Then I don't have to deal with cash and I don't run up credit card bills

I use WaMu too. I really like them - they're hours are until 6PM every night. And I do online banking with them. They charge $5/mo but the way I look at it, I'm saving the $$ I used to spend on stamps.

Free everything..checking, saving, etc

Open 7 days a week! We got married on a Sat & deposited money Sun before our flight to honeymoon..it was great!

Hmmm, $5 a month for online banking. Does anyone know if Chase charges for online banking? It does sound good though. WaMu's seem to be sprining up all over the place.

I have all my accounts w/ WAMU and FH is in the process of switching his over to them as well. I love this bank. So much better then when it was Dime. The only fees i ever get charged are if i use an ATM other then wamu's.
