Bank Rant! LONG.

So I have been through a couple of banks - I had no problem with Key Bank (or Dime) or whatever the heck it was. Then I switched to Citibank or should I say Shitibank. Nothing but hidden fees and poor customer service. So I switched to Bethpage FCU. WONDERFUL bank!

Now. FH and I opened an acct at Bank of America - mainly b/c that's where he banks and b/c his mom works there. So I finally log on and they charged me for frigging checks!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't authorize that! So I call the branch and their system is down so I had to call the 800 number. Took 15 mins out of my day. I finally get a cust svc rep and she says 'well sorry you didn't know and that your rep didn't tell you but it's a valid charge'. We have a lot of money at that frigging bank!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! F them. I don't care if they waive the charge and give me more money back, I am taking my money out of there and we'll just have our savings there. I am so livid. So livid.

Bottom line - I love my Bethpage and will stay there forever.

ETA: And OF COURSE FH is now getting defensive because I'm so pissed off. Unbelievable, it's a bank. Your mom doesn't own it!

I use WAMU for all my banking. I ahve had great experience with them. Cust. Serv. is great.

I do not pay any kind of banking fees for anything.

I have three checking accounts, a savings, IRA, CD, two credit cards.

they are all great.

Bank of America are like tyrants. They hunt you down for anything and charge you for everything.

My boss had loans through bank of america and damn if you were a minute late with any payment they would call you night and day even after payment was received.

I had to change when I moved to Boston because Wachovia (my old bank) was nowhere to be found in Massachusetts. I was so ticked.

BoA is AWFUL. I can't wait to move back to NY and switch back.

I would strongly suggest you look into INGDirect.

I use WAMU and love them. But I do get charged for checks when I run out. Luckily I pay everything on line and use maybe 1 check a month
