So last week I called for my baptism certificate and fh's baptism certificate. Our church requires documentation of all of the sacraments but our priest said that they will be listed on the back of the baptism one. SOOO...I called and to get FH's was no problem at all. I called Thursday and they mailed it out to us and we got it on Saturday. I called for mine and they didn't have my communion documented (i made baptism in one church and communion and confirmation in another church) but they did have confirmation. They told me to call back on Monday. So yesterday I called and they said that they had it and I asked if she could mail it to me and she said yes and then she told me that there was an offering! I can't believe how they ask for money while the other two parishes that I am dealing with to get all of our paperwork asked for nothing and was so nice and willing to help us. Did anyone else have to pay an offering to get their baptism information?
TIA, Jillian

Re: Baptism Certificates?
I did have to pay for one church but not the other.
I also had the same thing happen to me...The church where I got baptised didn't have my communion or confirmation, but my FHs church did (even though it was in diff parishes for him as well..)

Re: Baptism Certificates?
Yes, I had to give my parish $5.00 to get my baptisim certifiicate too. I thought it was a little insane, considering all the $$ I've given to the church already.

Re: Baptism Certificates?
I went to the church and picked mine up and didn't have to make an offering, but when I called FH's church they told me that I had to submit a request in writing via mail and enclose a minimum offering of $10! Eh, whatever, we can't get married in the church without it so we sent it and they sent us the certificate about 2 weeks later.
