Stupidly, I handed my parents and sister their invitations instead of mailing them (same household), so I had no seed invitations to check on to make sure they were hand canceled. FIL's received theirs today, and FH verified that there was a rubber stamp cancel over the stamps, but also a barcode sticker over the bottom of the envelope, right over the top half of my envelope graphics Pisses me off, especially because it's over the top half of it, not bottom, so really must look stupid now. See what I mean?
Girls who asked for hand canceling, did your envelopes have the barcodes on them as well if you saw them post mailing?

Re: Bar Code on mailed envelopes...
Mine were hand canceled (I know cause I did it myself ). I had one invitation returned to me after they tried to deliver and there was no barcode. HTH!

Re: Bar Code on mailed envelopes...
Just because they were hand canceled at your PO doenst mean that during the trip another PO wont run it through the machine.

Re: Bar Code on mailed envelopes...
The same thing happened with mine. We hand cancelled them in Bethpage and then my aunt who lives in Queens received hers with a barcode right across the stamps! But everyone on Long Island didn't have the bar codes when we asked. So it must just be certain post offices that do that - so annoying.

I believe the bar codes help them route properly.
We had ours hand canceled and some had bar codes as well when they were delivered.

Re: Bar Code on mailed envelopes...
no one on LI's did at least in Suffolk, but MIL's did, so it had to go through a post office at some point that ran them through

Re: Bar Code on mailed envelopes...
Some had a barcode and some didn't... I think it depends on the PO it goes through. I know you notice..but no one else probably even noticed! So I wouldn't stress it!
