How exactly do you bargain with your reception hall to add things or adjust the price?? Any tips??

Discuss options like paying in cash. I don't konw if you have a minimum or not...but the more your guarantee, the more they will go down! Just keep talking to them-don't sign anything the first time around. Go back and say 'we did our finances and if we could get it for x price we could afford it!'

Don't be afraird to ask: Can you do better? Nine times out of 10 they can. they start at the top and see how much they can get out of you.

If you are having an off-seaon wedding, a day wedding, etc. use that as a bargaining tool. there are a lot of extras they will throw in like cake, chair covers, etc. etc. if you just ask.

do your homework and don't be afraird to say, 'i got this offer at another place, but i really like your hall. what can you to make me book here.'

Paying in cash usually works. See if they offer packages.

Re: Bargaining

They only accept cash and they already have special rates for off-season weddings. I have to sign the contract when I give the deposit... right now they have my date on hold, if I don't give my deposit by Monday they will release the date.

If I say that I can guarentee a certain # and they lower the rate or throw an extra something in and then I don't have that #, what happens??

any other tips before I go???

I just used the same tactic- I said I had a better price at another place....and asked what they could do. They didn't drop their price, but they threw in a small venetian hour & an extra half hour for my reception!

I had mentioned that some numbers 'scared me' and they asked me what it was I didn't like. I told them that the minimum and the price per head. They were great- they said they would have to get back to me and we worked it all out so that I felt better. Then later when we signed the contract, my dad got some things added in. At first I was afraid, but then I just said that I had nothing to lose so I went for it! Good luck!

Re: Bargaining

My BM just threw stuff in when I asked how much extra they would cost his reply to a couple of things was 'I'll throw it in for you' so I haven't had to do much bargaining yet!
