Go digital. The other one is hard to read and takes so darn long. At the early morning time you need to take your temp, you cannot fiddle around with lights, timing yourself etc.. The digital just beeps when done and many store the info for you.

Re: basal thermometer
Thanks Michele I just bought a digital one, I though so, since it measures in such small percentages, so I made the right choice then!
I just wanted to ask 'the experts'

Re: basal thermometer
I was going to say digital too. Just be sure it reads to the 10th of a degree. I bought one made by Vicks that beeps when your temp is reached. It also stores your last temp in case you don't record it when you take it.

Re: basal thermometer
Vicks is a digital but it is not a basal body thermometer. I am not 100% sure the difference on them but I know when I was told to chart my doctor told me it HAD to be a basal body one.. that it was somehow much more accurate then the other one. It is digital as well though. I had just bought the vicks too and then I switched. Basal Body ones can really only be found in the pharmacys..they are also just a few dollars

Re: basal thermometer
You have to use a basal, not just any digital. www.babyhopes.com has one pretty cheap and I used it.

I don't think a digital gives you temps to the tenth of a degree or accurate enough to get BBT when charting. I would get the glass. I usually didn't have a problem reading mine. I bought it at a local pharmacy.

Re: basal thermometer
go to a pharmacy, they sell BASAL thermometer, that come with ovulation charts inside the box. It measures your tempurature much more accuraltly & when your temp goes up, it's during ovulation.
