Basement Living room paint ideas????

Danielle and I are going to be painting the living room in our apartment next. We were thinking of painting the room blue and then sponging or ragging one of the walls.

We need ideas on what shades of blue would be good for the room.

To get an idea of the room, I will tell you it is a pretty big space, but there is only one window in the room. It is also in a basement so the color cannot be too dark.

Please give us some ideas as to what colors of blue will look good on the walls.

The carpet will be a white Berber....

The furniture is Light gray, and The lamps and black and silver.

Your furniture is pretty neutral - do you have pictures you are going to be hanging or curtains?

Sometimes I work backwards and set everything up like that (pick accessories) and then decide what color walls will bring everything together.

The BM site has an extensive color chart online and allows you to set rooms with different colors for ceiling, trim, walls, etc.

Right now we have one picture that wwe are going to hang. There are tons of colors in the picture and any color we put in the room will go nicely.

Yesterday we went to Home Depot to pick a color and we have it down to two Glidden colors.

The other color is a very light blue. I cannot find it on the glidden color chart, but it is glidden paint. Danielle wants to rag off one wall....and paint the rest of the room the one color.

I was thinking last night, and was wondering if we painted the wall with the window, and the long wall that has the hole in it now the blue or the Violet color, and then the other 2 walls a light silver color. I think that would look nice...and then we can still rag off the one wall.
This wall and the wall on the right that you cannot see would be silver
And these two walls would be blue or violet. The wall with the hole in it is the wall we want to rag. It goes the extent of the living room




Do you think that would look good? It would be light in the room. That is a main concern, because there is only one window in the room...and it is a basement apartment. Where I live now I have something like this but the paint is darker.

I went to my cousins house on friday to fix his computer, and i found that he painted his basement. They used Color Washing....It looks amazing. Now Danielle and I are thinking about doing this to our living room.

We finally finished the kitchen tonight and we picked out our carpet for the living room and the bedroom. We still have alot of work to go before we can conquer the living room but we have to decide on a color for that room....Please help us...we are going crazy.
