We are in the process of having our basement done...as we speak. Before they started we had them put the waterproofing on. I am not sure if that is what you are referring to. It was something that he painted on.

Was it expensive?

Re: basement waterproofing
If we are talking about the same thing, it is something you buy and could do it yourself. Since we are having the basement done, the guy just charged us a little extra to do it. It just looked like white paint on the concrete before they started. Then they did the framing, insullation,etc...

If you're talking about the paint-on stuff- it's called Super Thero Seal, you can get it at Home Depot. I think it's about $25-35/bucket. My fiance just did this to our basement!!! You usually need 2 coats I think.

Are you experiencing leaks now?

Re: basement waterproofing
We have had leaks in the past in 2 of the rooms. One leak we 'repaired' by using tar and tar paper- the other one kind of went away when we cleaned out the gutters. We still get a little water when it POURS.
We want to seal the walls before we sheetrock- we currently have paneling and are going to rip it down to make sheetrock walls.
