basset hounds anyone?

I always wanted a basset hound or a beagle. But everyone talked me out of it. They say that bassets smell and are stubborn. Since they have good sense of smell, they are very hard to housebreak. They also howl if kept alone for long periods of time.

Check out BREW. It is a beagle organization that rescues dogs. They have a website. Often they have bassets on the page as well.
