Has anyone gone to Lucky Chengs in NYC? Im not into the stripper thing, but I think a drag show would be a blast! just wondering if anyone has been there before.

I went for my friend's party and it was so much fun! The drinks are veerrrry expensive though. I guess no different than the rest of Manhattan!

I have been three times. Not to be a downer, its a lot of fun but the food is awful and overpriced. If you do a search on here you will find that a lot of other girls agree with me. But if you are just going for drinks (I dont know if they will let you do that) or if you dont care about the money and food, you are guaranteed to have a great time!

I went there about 10 years ago for my cousin's Bachelorette party & it was a blast! A few friends and I went a couple more times after that because it was so much fun! My BMs were thinking of taking me there too! You should do it! The drag queens are soooo much fun - far less sexual than male strippers, which - in my opinion - is a good thing... But everyone is into their own thing. Whatever you decide, enjoy!!!

I've heard mixed reviews about them, but you can always try Lips which essentially similar to Luck Changs and its in Manhattan also

I agree, it was a good time, alot of laughs, but don't eat dinner there. The food isn't too good, not much to choose from either, and the menu is confusing LOL.. The drinks are expensive, but that's what you get for being in the city :) Go to dinner somewhere else and go there for the show.... and get ready for a drag queen lap dance

We're going there in a couple weeks for my BP - would you mind telling me how expensive? Like... $5 a beer, 7 or 8 for mixed I'm guessing?
Now people are making me all nervous with talk of the food being bad!! But, can you see the full show without doing dinner? I didn't think you could.......

I remember there being people next to us ordering just drinks. The drinks were like $15 each maybe... all I know is, there was 4 of us for dinner and each had 2 drinks and the bill was $500 , I almost died, there aren't prices on anything, so you don't know. I would call and double check, but I don't think you have to have dinner... Have fun, it really was alot of fun

That sounds weird..... My BM is the one organizing eveything, and though they don't list prices online, it says their 'specialty' drinks are $8. So how could regular drinks be more then that?

I have been there and I agree about the food. Not good.
As for the entertainment: definitely not for the shy. Some people I went with are kind of quiet and they were nervous because the drag queens often don't ask you if you want to participate - they make you participate. A very shy, quiet friend of mine had his shirt removed during a performance. And the entertainment is raunchy. Some people love it, some people don't.
I had fun and I was glad I went, but I am not interested in going back.

I also reccomend Lips, i went for my birthday several years ago. We went with guys (all straight) and girls, My fave part of the evening was when 'peppermint' kissed my cousins DH. I still look back at the pix and laugh!!!!

I've been there 3 times. The last time I went was about 3 weeks ago. I didn't think the food was bad. We had the dinner that was $32 a person and it was served family style. So, we had 6 girls and we picked maybe 3 or 4 appetizers from this menu, 3 or 4 dinner things and they brought out an appetizer sampler. We didn't drink there (we were already drunk) and I believe with 5 people absorbing the cost for the bachelerette it came to 53 bucks a person. If you want the bachelorette to go on stage for the lap dance it's 20 or 25 dollars more. During the show they pass around envelopes for more tips (they are very into tipping). They also have a guy walking around making penis balloons and a woman doing tarot cards (more tipping). It's an experience but if the bachelorette is shy it can be pretty scary and intimidating for her.
