Bathroom Decor Help Needed...Bath Mat Question!

My BR is a very light beige marble with white walls, white cabinets, lots of mirrors and shiny silver fixtures. I live in an apt. in NYC so...it is pretty small. The only colors I seem to find that match are either white or beige. So, right now we have been using a light beige bath mat and light beige towels.

Our bath mat looks so dirty all the time...I can't figure out why! We have tried two different styles and both of them still look dirty after a few days...has anyone had this problem, any suggestions?

Also, if anyone has a similar color br do you have any suggestions as to what other colors I could use for our mat and towels (possibly darker)?

Do you have any other accent colors...such as curtians in there.
My BR is a taupe with purple flower border matching my accessories, and then I have a purple curtain scarf over my window, and I went with a purple mat.
Maybe you can do darker colored towels to mach a darker mat.

My bathroom is beige and Ivory tiles (very old) however, I painted the walls a very pale seige and did Purple accents - (bath mats, candles, sheer curtain, soaps) and I think the purple and green look very nice with it)
It sounds to me that you have a very neutral bathroom and could put any color you want)
Yes, I agree about the light bath mats - they do tend to look dirty very quickly - I used to have a very pale yellow one and I had to get rid of it.

Thanks girls...I love the green idea. I just took my green chair cushions from my living room and put them on the floor in the br and it looks great! Now I am so excited to go shopping! I'm thinking I'll do a sage green color for the bath mat, the towels and the shower curtain!
