Bathroom Renovations

Bathroom Renovations

I know this is probably a nearly impossible question to answer but could anyone give me a ball park range on the price of a complete bathroom renovation? We looked at a house yesterday that we really liked but would need a total bathroom overhaul. It's a very small bathroom so we'd probably install a shower stall, it needs all new tiles, and probably a new sink. We're just trying to figure out if it is worth it.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Bathroom Renovations

my mom just bought a new sink/faucet/vanity for around $600 from home depot w/granite top--she needed it quick! tile will depend on the kind (tumbled, ceramic, etc.)-- and of course the labor-will you do it yourself or have someone do it for you?? my friend had tile put in for 700 in a small kitchen (not including the cost of the tile)..........i hope this helps some!!! PS you also never know what problems you may run into so always budget higher!

A complete bathroom renovation can range anywhere from 2500 to over 10,000!

thanks so much ladies! We're talking a tiny bathroom here and I don't need anything fancy but you're 100% right to budget over.

Re: Bathroom Renovations

That is a really hard question to answer because it all depends on what you want. We are currently renovating both baths. Here are some of the costs, but keep in mind you can go higher or lower.

Airjet Tub-$1900
Toliet and Sink-$900
Marble-$5 a sq. ft (bought 525 sq feet)
Handles/Spouts/Shower Head-$1400
Accessories (Towel Racks, Toliet Paper Holder, Glass Shelf, etc.)-$1000
Labor-$9000
Shower Door-$800
New Window-$150
Random Materials for Job-$2000+

I picked marble that was on sale (50% off) and I went for mid line handles, accessories

Thank you!!

525 sq feet is a pretty big bathroom, no?

I would say it is large for a middle class house. It has a separate tub and shower. But it is not large for a big home. I am putting marble on the walls, so that is why it seems like a lot.

I have a bathroom in my house that is about 400 sq ft and my house is a 'middle class' house. There were renovations done to the house before we bought it that made that room very big. I use it as a pantry/bathroom/powder room. Heck, I could rent it out!

I think you misunderstood what I said. I need 525 sq ft of marble, but I am putting marble on the walls and falls. It is not 525 sq ft on the floor.

Re: Bathroom Renovations

We redid the bathroom in our house and here is what we spent:

The tub we didnt change because it was in great condition

$30 for the toilet bowl kit - we rebuilt the internals and $8 for a new seat

$299 from Jembro in Massapequa for a Vintage Vanity with a marble top, bone sink, antique faucet and all the plumbing included.

Tile for the shower stall and 4 feet up on the rest of the walls, plus the floor $700

Tile Install $520 - $20 an hour

Antique Looking light fixture $40

Medicine Cabinet $130

Towel Bar, Toilet Paper holder, and Bath Mat $60

When looking for a shower stall, toilet bowl, vanity etc - look around at stores. Lowes is cheaper than home depot on most of the items. Jembro had a few different vanities. Ours is 24 inches, but they had larger ones too.
