Bay Shore RD

Bay Shore RD

Hi ladies...

I know it is pretty early to worry about the RD but as many of you know, I am moving to FL in just a few weeks to begin med school and FFIL would like to have some ideas of where to look for our RD. FILs are paying for it, and want it to be really nice, and we will be having probably between 30 and 40 people. FILs are also from out of state so it is a bit difficult to plan this with my being in FL, but it will all work out.

So I am from Old Field, my entire family is from eastern LI, but FH's people and family are staying in Nassau, mostly at The GCH, and the church (where the rehearsal is taking place) is in Bay Shore. So since we all need to end up at different ends of the island after the RD is over, we figured the best place to have it is close to the church. since we will already be in the area.

Sooo... any ideas for a RD spot in or near Bay Shore?? TIA!!!!

I had mine at Cpt Bills. It was very convenient for everyone to just drive down the street from the church. And people are still talking about the swordfish. It was right in line pricing wise with other places we looked at and we were able to carry the waterfront theme for the weekend.

Oh and we had 30 people and it was perfect. The room we had could handle the amount you need without a problem.

I agree about Captain Bill's and St. Pat's is absolutely gorgeous-I was baptized there, had my confirmation there. Just didn't have my communion there because I was going to Catholic school then and we did it at the chapel.

Long River Chinese Restaurant in West Islip. They give you a lot of food and you can't beat the prices.

Ohhhh thank you!!! I'm not a parishioner there and they have still been wonderful to work with - everyone on their staff included. So not only is it beautiful, but it is also a wonderful place to get married with such a positive vibe about it.

Ladies - thank you all so much for your wonderful suggestions!!

I had heard great things about Fat Fish and finally got to experience it on Thursday for my end of the school year party!!

We were in the Wine Bar/deck. It was fantastic!! Capt. Bill's has been the go-to place when in doubt and something comes up. I don't think you would go wrong with either place.

I'm googling some of these places and they look really really good and so pretty. The awesome thing about Bay Shore is that it's on the water. You girls are awesome!
