has anyone ever been to this event??? i hear the lines are forever super long but that's all i heard. i'm interested in going but the lines being long is deterring me. jsut would like to get some info from a someone whose been to one in the city. thanks!

I was there last year with FH. the food was amazing/ Last year you bought tickets from the ticket line and redeemed them. This year you pay at the counters. They have bbq pit masters from all over the country. They serve beef brisket, burnt ends, ribs, etc. Truly an amazing time but yes, you WILL wait on lines. I'll be there. Look for the cranky short haired redhead with BBQ sauce all over her shirt.

as i watched the TODAY show yesterday morning there were 3 guys demonstrating their talents and as each one did their thing i was drooling profusely but with the very last one...! holy mother of g0d! but UGH! because i hear the lines are nuts and so super crowded i'm gonna bow out. i'm one cranky biatch! that's just terrible on the hubby. have a great time and please let me know how each bite tasted! i need to live vicariously through you!

I went last year too, but it was late in the afternoon and the lines were ridiculous, so much that we didn't get any food. They are doing it differently this year and we are hoping to be there early so hopefully it will be much better.
Last year, I didn't get to eat any bbq, but I had a really good dessert!
