i was originally an '09 bride too. so as of now ive been enaged for a lil over a year and by the time we get married it will be 2 1/2 years !!

we got engaged on aug 22, 2008 and will be married on nov 6, 2010 -- so a little more than 2 yrs

you have to look at the bright side of a long engagement....you get 08 prices...you dont feel pressured into making decisions....you get to do tons of research to get the best stuff that suits you....you have more time to save money so you are less stressed plus it allows you to have the things you really want

We got engaged April 2007 and our wedding date is now September 2010.
People think we are putting it off and other BS but in truth we didn't realize when we got engaged the co$t of it all. So we spent last year getting out accounts in balance, getting certain bills/debts out of the way. We began looking at halls this past summer and just booked about 2 weeks ago.
FMIL is the biggest complainer that our engagement is too long. I told her if she would like to speed this up she can contribute to the wedding. But of course that doesn't happen

My enagement is 18 months. Fh thought it was way too long and once he realized we had to pay for some stuff, his tune changed!

2 1/2 years for me! Wow i feel so much better. I thought we were being crazy waiting and pushing it back a year but now i know we aren't the only ones with a longer engagement!

It will be two and half years by the time we get married. We are paying for it ourselves, so it's however long we feel comfortable.
I am now getting from the family, oh maybe you shouldn't have a wedding, because of the economy maybe you should get a house, blah, blah....
