BC Pill Experts...Help...May be TMI

So I just went on the pill for the first time and have been on it for a week and a half now.
I started it mainly to try and manipulate my period because it was right on schedule for the wedding. I know I started a bit late but I havent experienced any bad side effects from it and it seems to be going ok.

I'm currently experiencing a light period during the second week oft taking pills. I know this is normal. However it has me confused as to what to do

Since I am experiencing this now, should I take the non medication pills next week so in case my period comes it will a week before the wedding? and then continue to take the medication pills the week after (the week of the wedding) By doing so I will be skipping to the non medicated pills a week earlier than I should according to the pack.

OR

should I just skip the non medication pills and keep taking the regular ones straight until next month when I get back from my HM to avoid getting my period during the wedding and HM?

I'm not sure because like I said, this is only my second week on them and I'm not sure if its wise to start trying to manipulate my period so soon. I spoke to friends and they think i should stick with the medicated pills until next month and jus skip the non medication ones.
But I would like to get some more opinions.
Thanks

i dont think you should skip a week of medicated just to take the non-medicated a week early.

i did skip the non-medicated and went straight to a new pack to avoid getting my period for the wedding/HM since it was due that week, but i ended up spotting for like a month because of it. maybe call your gyno and ask??

I would definitely stick with the medicated pills - if you jump to the placebo pills before you're supposed to you're going to manipulate your hormones even more and might make the spotting worse and have it last longer.

I would just keep on the active (medication) pills and skip the placebo ones. You might just have some breakthrough going on and it should subside.

If you want to be postive call your Dr. If you are on a low dose pill you might need a stronger one to stop your period from coming.

ugh I am on low dose. I guess I have to call the doctor but I doubt she will give me anything stronger because its only my fist month...

You shouldn't skip the medicated ones but you can skip the placebo and start a new pack... however both times I tried this on a low dose BC I got my period anyway.
