BC Pill Question

Does anyone get really naseous with a stomach ache like me when taking the pill? I take it at 5:30 pm every day and find that around 9:30, 10:00 I get really naseous and get a stomach ache and have to lay down or I may get sick. Do you think if I take it at a different time things will change? Like maybe before bed?

Thanks. I stopped the pill for about 4 months because I was losing weight from all the stomach aches (I'm already a toothpick) and I was so naseous and felt 100% better off it, but I love the pill so I'm trying Yasmin and on month 2, the same thing seems to be happening minus the migraines, so far. I will try taking it at night, thanks!

I just started yasmin a liittle over a month ago. I noticed I was getting that naseous feeling a few times lately and actually though it was from the vitamins I'm taking I have been feeling pretty crappy since I'm on these yasmin. I'm not sure if I should stick it out and give it a few months or just give up on them

Go to the OB/GYN and have him change the brand. That worked for me. I was getting real mean and crying all the time. He changed my brand and I am fine.

That's how I feel towards the end of the day at work (around 4:30 it starts) - I feel really naseous. I always take a multivitamin in the morning, but it is on a full stomach, otherwise it makes me naseous. I'm going to try to stick it out a few more months and then I'll give up on the pill if it keeps up.

I've changed pills so many times I'm beginning to think my body just doesn't like the pill.

same here! I have, over the years, been on many different pills on and off. thinking it was a mistake to give it a shot again

I had the same problem. I take it right before bed, with food. This way I am asleep for the time I feel sick! It also got better after a couple months on it.

Re: BC Pill Question

I had many problems with every single BC pill I tried. I tried EVERYTHING from taking it with food, to taking it at night, to crushing it in milk, EVERYTHING... but nothing helped my headaches, nausea and stomach pains.
My gyno recommended that I try the patch, OrthoEvra. I tried the patch during the winter months @ the beginning of 2003, and looooved it, but as soon as the weather heated up over the summer, I was getting a bad rash where the patch was applied and the patch kept coming off from swimming.
In August of 2003 my gyno put me on the NuvaRing. I cannot tell you HOW GREAT THIS IS! The ring is inserted vaginally and the medication is absorbed continually at a slow rate all day, everyday for 3 weeks. Gyno explained that because the medication is being absorbed slowly and evenly, there is no hormone surge, therefore no sudden headaches/nausea.
I've experienced no weight gain (as I did w/ the pill), no more headaches, no tummy aches, and believe it or not, my skin is better than it has been on other BC. (I never knew that BC helped to clear skin!)
I have a couple of my friends hooked now too, everyone wants to know how come the NuvaRing isn't advertised more!
I know I sound like a commercial, but I really do love this and it really does make my life so much easier. FM is you have anymore questions, I've been on it for over a year (pretty much since it came out) and I've asked my MD/researched everything there is to know about it.
