Im allowed to take medication like tylenol, nyquil etc. while on BCP right? I know you're not suppose to take the pills while on antibiotics or St. Johns warts because it lessens the effectiveness...but how bout other meds?

You can double check with your doctor or the pharmacist to be sure, but as far as I know, only the two things you listed are on the 'no no' list.

You can take most medications while on bcp, BUT you must becareful with certain meds like antibiotics, topomax, ect because you can get pregnant while on these meds, so it is recommended that you use a back up method of BC while on certain meds. You should continue to take your BCP while on the meds unless your doc tells you to stop. BCP makers all have a list of drug/drug interactions listed in the patient information packets, and on the drug websites
