BCP question (may be a stupid one)

Im just curious....

Lets say you have sex within the 7dys of start BCP and then you get ur 'period' within ur placebo week..is it possible to be pregnant?? From my understanding the period you get while on BCP isnt really a period but its just tricking ur body to bleed because some girls like to know they still can have a period while on BCP..so lets say you become pregnant during those first 7dys on BCP then get ur period..does that mean you are not pregnant??

This doesnt apply to me..I was just thinking about this today...may be a stupid question..I dunno

Do you mean the first 7 days ever? Or say you've been taking it for two years and the first 7 days of your new pack?

If it's the former - you could become pregnant.

If it's the latter - you're prob not pregnant.

I mean the first days ever of being on BCP...

you can at any point become pregnant on BCP. when your on BCP your actually tricking your body into thinking your 'pregnant' and no you dont get 'real' periods either. but i know of quite a few BC babies.

ETA: it takes about 3 months for your body to become adjusted to the BCP so the first 7 days ever of being on the pill your more likley to become pregnant if your not using another form of protection.

This is very true, but I do want to point out that in general, tricked body or not, those who are pregnant, in general do not get a period, as the uterine lining is in use, so if you got pregnant in the first 7 days of starting the pill, it is not likely that you would have a period, and one would suspect that she was pregnant because 'aunt flo' never showed up to her scheduled meeting

What birth control does is lowers the follicle stimulating hormone (FH), therefore preventing the release of an egg (ovulation). Therefore, even when you are on the placebo, it should be fine assuming you took the pills when you should have during the month.
