Be a selfish bride! It's ok! I'm MARRIED!!! AHHH!H
Not sure how long this will be. I have to wake up in a few hours for my Honeymoon flight!!! I GOT MARRIED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Friday was the day.. only took 11 years, 9 months exactly. My life savings, some help from mom n dad and so so SO much stress. I gotta say it was beyond anything I could ask for. I lived my dream wedding! I felt as though I had an out of body experience walking down the aisle It felt like I was watching a movie of a beautiful princess (OMG was that ME!) walking down the aisle to her GORGEOUS Prince Charming (WOW, he's really MINE!?). With everyone standing and watching me, as I watched him (and struggled with my HUGE gown down the aisle).. it felt like this wasn't real. I cried. I cried HARD. I cried at almost EVERYTHING. It took a long time to get here and was so hard to get here that my happiness literally was bursting in liquid form out of my eyeballs!
So... the selfish bride part? Which is why I am writing...(cause I still have no time to rest). I went into this thinking I will NOT be that bride that doesn't get to eat. I am spending literally my LIFE'S SAVINGS on this venue. I AM EATING! AND DRINKING! ANd so I did.. aside from my dress hurting my gut so bad that I couldn't eat or drink much. I greeted everyone at the receiving line after the ceremony. WHY should I do it again at the party? So what did I do? Exactly what I wanted!!! I danced. I danced my freken *** off!!!! I ate, I drank. I was with my groom 80% of the night. I danced with good friends, I sang, I spent a minute here n there with my closest family. I barely spoke to any of my parents friends or some c=some family. It wasn't on purpose but moreso... I was dancing and having a blast when I looked over and thought 'oh wow I never said hello to this one n that one' but they were watching me so I smiled and waved and made eye contact and went on my merry way. I figure this sounds selfish but I had the time of my life. I had so much fun. The night flew by and I just refused to get caught up in 15 minute long conversations with everyone and miss out on what I have waited so very long for. ANd it seems it was fine. No one has complained about anything. Everyone has said it was the best wedding they had been to! I do regret a few things.. but things I didn't even realize at the time... I never got to really dance with my mom (My REAL best friend) she says we danced a little but I meant like a meaningful song. I never danced at all with my MOH (My closest friend since I'm 3!), I didn't get pictures with 2 people I REALLY wanted pictures with and I forgot to take a certian posed pic with my girls that I had wanted for months. But hey how can one remember EVERYTHING!? I had an amazing time.
BTW to those who follow... The secret I had for my Hubby was a success. He had no clue. I changed my dress and sang him 'It had to be you/At last' and everyone loved it. They all said I sounded great and looked great. He was thrilled and couldn't believe I managed keeping that a secret this whole time.
Best wishes to everyone else getting married in the near future. I'nm still on y cloud. Next up: ANTIGUA!!!!!!!!!
