Beach or Hawaiian Themed E-Party?

Beach or Hawaiian Themed E-Party?

Okay, I wanted a beach theme wedding, but after seeing the $$$ that went along with a wedding on the beach/water, we nixed that one. So now, the E-party is going to be a place, on the beach (Beach is even in the name of the place), and I was ticked pink that I could still do my beach theme!

Now, (after invites go out-tho not beach themed) FH says he wants to do a Hawiian theme. In our attire and some decorations.

What are your thoughts? Any ideas for decorations for either?? Invites and favors are already done. Only things I NEED are flowers for the centerpieces (vases), table #'s, and some minor decorations.

So your having it at a restaurant? I'm having a backyard Luau for my E-party. Try www.orientaltradingcompany.com for lots of decorations...and for cheap!

It's a small catering hall.

Posting pics of the favors I made and the vases (they have irridecent mosaic tiles on them) that will have flowers (of some sort, I think roses). I am also doing mini galvenized tubs (3' diameter) that I will fill with sand and put a tealight in, there will be ~3/table

We are doing Hawaiian/tropical theme. For centerpieces I bought bowls on ebay 20 for $80 include shipping (see pic. below). I'm filling them with multifcolored fish gravel and putting one or two goldfish in each. Maybe some petals around it too. Party stores have these blow up palm trees with lights, so we will buy some of them too.

I'm getting myself, my bridal party and parents real flower lays and regular ones for all the guest. I might try to do themed food too.

We're having it at a hall, so I wanted a theme to dress it up and give the place some color!

We had our engagement party on a beach as well, but we had a beach theme so I don't think pictures of my day will help you. But I think it would be fairly easy to incorporate a luau flare though by adding leis and flowers as someone else mentioned, and maybe by wearing attire with more tropical prints. Not those crazy shirts you see at Jimmy Buffett concerts (I am an avid fan of his and own of a few of those insane shrts!!!), but something a little more understated, but fun. Also, perhaps you can choose some foods that have a Hawaiian twist?? And perhsps the flowers in the centerpieces could be something a little more tropical instead of roses?

Just some thoughts.
