beach passes in long beach

beach passes in long beach

FH and I just moved to Long Beach and want beach passes for this summer and would like to get them today if possible. They were supposed to be selling them in our building lobby last weekend but no one ever showed up. Anyone know how we get them and if they take credit cards or cash and if they are open after 6 or on saturdays?

Thanks ladies!

I was *just* going to respond that they sold them in the lobby of my old apartment building, but there goes that idea.

I wish I could be of more help. Despite the fact that I used to live there (ON the water!), I never bought a beach pass. (Not a beach person)

I guess it's making more sense why we moved!

I know they have those little huts right on the boardwalk at the entrances to the beach, thats where I've always bought mine! Not sure what type of payments they take though

on the beach there are booths, and that is also where you show your pass or for those who dont have a pass just pay the fee, you should be able to get it from there.

Ive been to long beach at night and there were alot of people there, they didnt close it off or anything so i assume its allowed lol

I think you have to go to the building in the middle of the boardwalk (on the street side). I'm pretty sure that's where residents buy their passes.

You only have to pay during beach hours (when there are lifeguards there). I literally never stepped foot in the sand. I ran on the boardwalk and that was it. THAT's why I didn't have a beach pass.

The next time you go to the beach, just buy one at the hut where you would pay your $10 for the day.

actually if you are a resident you can get a yearly discounted pass at the county office. i dont remember the location, but i bet if you google long beach pass it will come up. just make sure yiou bring a copy of your rental agreement to get the discount, i think it was only 30 something dollars.

The city hall in Long Beach, it is located next to Starbucks on Park Ave. They have them there and they have them(yearly passes) at the office on the boardwalk. I think the Clerks office has regular business hours, but the office on the boardwalk should be open on weekends. If you plan on going more than a few times, I would get the pass rather than daily. You will save a lot of money.

ETA: I think the office on the boardwalk is around Edwards.

they also have them at the YMCA - that's where we always go. you can't buy them at every hut...there's one building by the bathrooms. season pass last year was $60 each.

can't wait to get mine tomorrow!

UGH i HATE to admit this but i actually sold empire passes when i worked at jones for 5 summers when i was younger ... you can buy them in front of both east and west bathouse and at any umbrella shack along jones beach. They are good for about 90% of NYS parks. They are prob around the $60 range.
