Beach Themed Wedding Help!

I’m looking to have a Beach themed wedding! I’m Very excited but I so lost! We don’t want to spend a lot of money so we were thinking of getting a tent and do it cheap and still classy. But I have no idea where to start! Any ideas?

tents could get pricey- bc then you have to get the tables + chairs +lights+ all the materials to decorate..

What about a restaurant by the beach? and just trying to keep it small so it doesn't get out of hand?

I agree, check prices first...when you add up the tents, chairs and all that you have to rent it adds up. One bride on here did the math and it wasn't much more to have her wedding at a RH or it was the same price, so she went with the RH because it saves a lot of aggravation too (much less to coordinate). I wish I could remember her name for you!!! Here are some you could check out that are popular here, are reasonably priced and have a beachy feeling:

Chateau La Mer
The Riviera
Windows on the Lake

GL!!!!!!!!!!!

Snapper Inn in oakdale is tentish and on the water

ETA: How far do you want to go? How much do you want to spend?

Atlantica in Westhampton
Montuak Yacht Club
both are true beach weddings

I of course love the VYC

I looked at about 20 RHs and wanted on the water FM me if you want.

It is near a river- not really on the beach per se...

First, look for a site where you can either obtain a permit to do a wedding at a nearby beach or local beach, if it's private even better w/o the public intrusion. For ex, brides including myself have done a garden wedding that are either city-owned or private botanical garden/park. The rental saves you a lot compared to other vendors/halls. Not to say that an all in one catering hall/restaurant isn't cheaper but the tabs run up- alcohol, waitstaff, valet parking, overtime, food/drinks, etc.
Second, there are a lot of rentals found in the city that charges- http://www.partytimeofcourse.com/ located in Queens & L.I. that has an all in one rentals for tents to chairs/tables, etc. The prices are a lot less and reasonable than most vendors. Keep in mind that the rentals will add up but you can always negotiate with the vendor to find the lowest price possible. Or if it's a small & intimate wedding of less than 100 guests, you can find outlet/factory/warehouses as well as Ebay that sell sets of discontinued silverware of mixed pieces/matching sets.
For the CPs/bouquet ideas, you can get friends & family to help you arrange something simple yet elegant. For the CP's, you can do the favors in a bucket/pail with shells or starfish glued outside, arrange white orchids/peonies/roses/hydrangeas in shades of pink/white/blue/yellow-orange/jade for a beachy look either in a rectangular/square vase w/ stones or pebbles or cascading down the tables. If flowers are expensive, you can cut down the cost using tea light candles/voltaire for a romantic setting esp late at night. Use tiki torches to light up the beach for an evening reception. For chairs, tie satin sash with shell in the middle.
As for food and drinks, if you can obtain a permit and host it yourself or hire caterer from a catering academy/institute (saves you big bucks compared to a catering vendor). For the drinks, you can create a signature cocktail such as sunrise, mai tai, mojitos, etc. Serve champagne for toast. For food, stationary buffets or a simple seated course. It would cheaper to do the food yourself if you happen to know a food who is a culinary pro or owns a restaurant, etc. And if you can bring your own alcohol that would dramatically cut down the cost.

Hope this helps, if you need further help with ideas, feel free to FM me. Best wishes!

What about having the ceremony on the beach and then the reception elsewhere to cut the costs of tents, chairs, etc?

Check out Lombardi's on the Sound in Patchogue. It just took over the old Louis XVI, so obviously the renovated some. They're right on the water and you can get married on the beach next to the place. It really looked beautiful when I went to see it. And it's Lombardi's, so you know you're getting good food and a ton for the $$$!
