I live in rockland county, so many of my guests would be traveling to L.I. for our sunday afternoon august wedding. Is it a huge inconvience to expect guests to travel to L.I. sunday mornings in the summer? Wedding probably won't be further than nassau county (manhassat, roslyn, 5 towns etc.)

Re: Beach Traffic to L.I.
I don't think it will be too bad because most of the traffic will be for the south shore beaches. Good Luck and relax.....it will be worth the ride!
the traffic is really around the meadowbrook area...and more so south than anything...
my wedding was a sunday morning in july and my dads family in CT (who NEVER drive to LI) said that there was nothing...(although it was overcast in the morning)

Re: Beach Traffic to L.I.
If the wedding is on the North Shore, it shouldn't be too bad. If they have to take the Belt or Southern State, then it could get a bit messy. But then again, it depends on how early in the morning. If it's earlier than 11 you should be in the clear.

I work on Sunday mornings (travelling from Rockville Center area to Huntington) and there is never any traffic until after 11:30-ish

Don't mean to derail the thread...
eternitywaits...if you don't mind my asking, where in Huntington do you work (I live in Hunt)? You could FM me if you'd prefer.

thanks all. hopefully shouldn't be too much of an issue if we start around 11:30, and its further north. they're all on their own gettting home however

I think it should be fine. On a sunday morning everyone is already where they wanted to go-eg. hamptons, jersey shore....I go to the beach on weekends all the time and the traffic really isn't that bad!
