We would love to get married at the beach but can not afford to have a 30+K wedding at Atlantica!! Does anyone know of a nice, low key but not tacky way to have a redeption on a budget near the beach on LI(preferably in Suffolk co.)?

Re: Beach wedding? Help
do you want your ceremony on the beach? your reception? or both?
Do you really mean 'beach' or just overlooking the water?

I think we mean beach- i've seen Lombardis on the sound, Giorgios, Lands End and I think I want something more low key- maybe informal is the word.

Gurneys - still expensive though Shelter Island Pridwin (135pp includes everything - taxes, gratuity, etc.) - low key romantic I almost choose here Then I believe lessings does Sunken Meadow which is on the beach. All spots we considered when we were thinking about a beach wedding. Best of luck searching for your perfect spot.

I have been to the Pridwin for a wedding. Very nice! The lake setting was gorgeous and my friends pictures came out awesome, especially by the dock. Not quite the beach... but still pretty.

Def check out Lessings at Sunken Meadow. The ONLY probem is that there is a boardwalk that runs between the building and the beach and they have to share restrooms with public I believe. Make sure to ask about that. Otherwise it is Beach and Beautiful!!!!

Chateau La Mer was the cheapest RH I went to. It is on the water in Lindenhurst but its not a beach. I got married in a Gazebo on the docks. It was beautiful.

I'm a Crescent bride, but it can get expensive. Well, maybe you can check it out. If you're flexible on the date and day, maybe it will work on the budget you mentioned. We're paying 110 plus tax and gratuity plus any extras we might choose (like longer cocktail hour and chocolate fountain). Price varies depending on time of year and how many guests. It's a picture perfect place... and you can get married right on the beach. There are a couple of brides in The Bride's Review who have their pics from their Crescent Beach weddings. GORGEOUS. I think Duke is one...Here's the link to Duke's Crescent Wedding Review with pics

I wanted the same thing as you and realized that it just wasn't gonna happen which is ridiculous considering we live on an 'island'. I chose The Old Field Club which has been everything I could ask for, except sand. If you have no luck and would like to be the only wedding going on, on the water, outdoor ceremony/CH and even the reception if you want (unlike Lombardi's on the Sound and some others) then OFC might be worth taking a look at. Good luck!!!

I am getting married there 4/07. I love it and they are very reasonable. Depending on the time of year you get married, they include a boat arrival to the cocktail hour.
