Beauty Question? (Do you put Vaseline on your face?)

Does anyone put vaseline on their face every nite before they go to bed.........a friend of mine knows a lady thats in her 60's and thats her secret and apparantly her skin looks Brand Spankin New! I may try it...just wondering if anyone else is on this little secret as well??

I only use Vaseline on my lips every night. Keeps them nice and smooth. I don't think I could stand Vaseline all over my face.

Oh my goodness, I break out so easily I think vasaline would completely put me over the edge.

I thought Vasoline clogged pores. Interesting though theory ...

I wonder what everyone else thinks!

I heard something about this once, that someone ( older) did that...I'm not disciplined enough to put anything on my face every night though...Im lucky if I remember to wash my face before bed...

I'm not so sure about the whole Vaseline all over the face thing...
I would investigate a bit, it may wind up doing more harm than good. (Clogging pores for one!).

I wouldn't do it. I work in skin care and many companies are stearing away from using petroleum in the products. The reason being is that petroleum products prevent your skin from 'breathing' including blocking the release of toxins from the skin. You should watch out for mineal oil on your skin care labels also because it is derived from petroleum.

I use Vaseline Intensive Care cream every night on my face. I would probably get in in my eyes if I slept with Vaseline on my face.

I just put it on my lips every night. My lips are so dry that if I put nothing on it at night, they will be so dry and chapped the next day. Doesn't matter whether it's winter or summer.

When I was around 20, I tried putting Vaseline on my skin at night. Bad, bad idea. My skin broke out, and I do not have skin that easily breaks out.

Vaseline is similar to Neosporin. I remember I told my derm I put Neosporin on a pimple that scabbed up (it was this horrible pimple that wouldn't go away around Christmas), and he said that wasn't a good idea because Neosporin blocks the pores and can create more breakouts.

They are actually very different. Neosporin contains antibiotics with is probably the source of irritation.... although I belive the cream version contians petroleum in the cream base.
