You don't need a receipt or gift receipt. They check your registry!!

If you are returning something that was bought off your registry you DONT need the receipt and you get full cash back. IF you are returning something that is not on your registry without a receipt you only get store credit!

Thats not true YOU DONT NEED A RECIEPT if it was brought off you registry then you need a copy of your registry only. I took back one of my chinas last week (someone brought it for me but i decided i didnt like it anymore and changed the whole set) and all i needed was my registry or they can pull it up for you. As long as it shows purchased off your registry your fine.

As long as it's shown as purchased on your registry, yes, you can get cash back... But, if it does NOT show as purchased on your registry, then you will get store credit, even with a gift receipt.

So what you're saying is this, for example:
Somebody bought a BBQ tool set that wasn't the one on my registry. It says '0 requested, 1 purchased' on my BBB registry. If at my shower on April 5th, the person who gave it to me didn't get a gift receipt, I can go to BBB and they'll see it's not on my registry? They'll take it back even though I didn't register for it?

this happened to me with small items that were purchased at the same time as one item that was on my registry - she said that because they were all bought together those things accidentally got added to my registry.
however, someone bought me this 18 piece set that is not on my registry and that i plan on returning... it says '0 requested 1 fulfilled'. i mean, why someone would do that in the first place confuses me when there are 3 pages of things that i DO want, but either way. as long as i can return it.
