Re: bedding question

If you are going to register for 2 bedroom sets for the same bedroom, keep in mind - get something in a similar color palate. You aren't going to repaint your walls just to change bedspreads.

Also, if you get a duvet, the duvet covers are usually cheaper and easier to store than entire comforters. You can just remove them to wash more easily. Something to keep in mind.

We didn't register for bedding for this reason, I have a set I like for now. I knew I would have a small shower and not get EVERYTHING so I figured I will decide and get fresh bedding after we move and pick wall colors.

To add: If you are going to register, register for a really good duvet or down comforter so you can just change the cover as you like it.

Re: bedding question

We registered for 4..............I am nutso about changing things like bedding, so picked one for each season. If you choose bedding with at least one color either in common, or an underlying color, then you'll be safe.

Surprisingly we got ALL 4 and someone even bought us a double as a fifth! I think that people like to buy something nice and bedding is usually a way to go! Let me see if I could find pics.

Re: bedding question

I registered for a really good down comforter and 2 different duvet sets. One is flannel for the winter and the onther is like a silk for summer. I like the idea of a duvet rather than comforters

Re: bedding question

I wanted this one for the spring:

The summer and for our first months sleeping in our married bed together!

Fall:

Winter:

Want my advice???? Go look at bedding ensembles, aka bed-in-a-bag. They are COMPLETE sets and are cheaper than buying things seperately. Some people put such pricey sheets and pillows up that it's no wonder that guest can only get you one set (not talking about anyone specifically, just an observation). I knew off the bat that I wouldn't even LOOK at sets that came all in pieces. HTH

Re: bedding question

I wasn't really liking any of the bedding I had seen in the stores. So I registered for sheets in 3 different colors and figured I'd look for a comforter on my own. Then I found a comforter today that I added on. My bedding most likely does not match. But I was more concerned about comfort and figured I can always change things later on if I find something better. I also tried to aim for neutral colors cause I'm not sure what color my bedroom will be.

A duvet is a thin sheet like thingy that goes over a down comforter. You can change them and wash them easily. Think of it like a pillow case for your comforter.

Thanks! Fortunoff for the summer and spring and BBB for the others.

Re: bedding question

We have 2 bedding sets on our registry, but really only registered for one. (the other set is pretty inexpensive and is just a duvet, 2 shams and a dust ruffle -- we bought the duvet ourselves in May because we needed one, and its on our registry so we get the bonus bucks from Macys).

The other set is pricey (silk, dry clean only) but I think it would be nice year-round. We registered for 2 sheet sets at BBB rather than the set it came with though, because the matching sheets were insanely expensive and not the best thread count. we registered for chocolate brown sheets for winter/fall, and white for spring/summer, but we might just mix them up.

We might add a second set, but it depends on whether our first set gets bought. We'd rather get one full set than have random pieces of two.

As for color, I love blue (as you can probably tell) and I find blue bedding relaxing. We tried to pick something neutral that we both liked. I saw another set that is white/ivory that we might register for too later one if we need to add to our registry.

We didnt love anything we saw in person but places like Macys have lots more selection online so I'd check that out.

Edit: I attached pix of our 2 sets.

Re: bedding question

We registered for 3 and ended up getting one of them ourselves because it was discontinued. We also just bought a set at the Ralph Lauren Home Outlet at a great price. So now we have a set for every season.
We registered for what matched the bedroom furniture best and when we finally chose a color for the bedroom it wasn't exactly neutral so we thought we would have to return a set, but it actually doesn't look bad.
