FH and I are about to move into our new apartment and are looking for advice on bedroom furniture...
How much can we get a good queen sized bed for (including mattress, box spring, frame, whatever else is necessary?) ?
Also looking into getting a decent dresser...saw some bedsets that included drawers in them..but I don't know if they'd be a pain to move or wouldn't be worth it, etc...
Also, our apartment is on the second floor, and while the stairs are fairly wide, the ceiling comes down a bit low when you enter the front hallway...so our landlord said that in the past, people had to get split boxsprings...does anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks so much for any help you can offer! ~Carrie

Re: Bedroom Furniture
First of all, yessss!!!!...bad experience with having to split a box spring and THEN it still wouldnt fit with about 5 big guys pushing and lifting. My fh ended up having to go guy something called a double (i think) box spring. Its two twin sizes with an attachment piece they give you. They are made specifically for these situations. I think sleepys should have them (i think thats where he went).
As far as furniture, definately try Bobs! I saw some really good deals there on nice bedroom furniture sets, like from 499 to around 999, and most were average at about 799 or 699.
matresses realllly range in price. this was one of our first purchases about 4 years ago when we moved in and we really had no idea. of course we wanted a good matress but we still didnt know prices. i think we got a great deal on a clearance one that was originally 1200 but got it for 600 with the boxspring, frame and all. we coulda gotten a decent one though for like 300-400 i believe. oh, alwways ask them to throw in the boxspring and frame for free. we went to sleepys.
take the frame even if you think you are gonna get a bed that doesnt need it, you never know and dont want to regret turning it down (expeically since it will likely be thrown in)
good luck!!!!

Re: Bedroom Furniture
We got our bedroom furnature from Bobs - we got a really good deal! Only complaint is that not all the pieces are in stock and we are still waiting for stuff. Thankfully we are in no rush - We spent $1299 for our set and that includes everything
My cousin and her BF got really nice stuff from Ikea. They had to put it all together but it was very inexpensive
I hope that helps!
We said that buying bedroom furnature offically made us grown ups
