been thinkin about my dress...

My dress is in my albums.

I was thinking, since I am going to have to have it greatly shortened, using the extra material to have the woman put some sort of sleeves on it. Not a long one, just enough to cover the tattoo on my upper arm and take away from the broadness in my shoulders that I inherited (thanks nani).

It's not really going to cost me a whole lot in alterations, I'm using a private woman that's friends with my FMIL (she did FSIL and a friend of mine's dress and she did a great job, for a small small fee), so it's not the money situation here.

I'm just curious on how it would look with a veil. any suggestions? should I do it?

I guess it depends on what kinda sleeves you were thinking of. Like little cap sleeves would be cute!

ITA! But nothing more than that, it might look a little 80s if you made a longer sleeve, JMHO.

I agree with Britt. Cap sleeves could work but full sleeves would be too much I think

yea, cap sleeve I guess, i dont know the proper term for it at all, but I wasn't talk quarter sleeve or long, just a loop over the shoulder, my tattoo is small so we're not talking about covering a huge area.

something LIKE this, not exactly that, and maybe a little smaller

i have broad shoulders, and i really do not belong wearing sleeveless dresses or shirts for that matter.

and another fyi, i do plan on removing my veil after the ceremony.

because i had to be freak of nature 6 years ago, i have a large tattoo on my back, and the veil kinda covers it when im at the church, i just feel bad exposing them at the church. the reception i could care less about.

i thought about the make up, but im worried it might get on my dress.

i like the idea of small cap sleeves..like SMALL ones...

i'm also having a issue w covering my tats on my back. I love them but I dont want them showing on my day. Mine are lower though.

Trust me, your dress is going to get dirty regardless. If any make-up wore off on it, it'd be on the inside of the dress and no one would notice.

But yupp, those are cap sleeves. They could definitely work. I've seen them on dresses similar to yours and it looks very nice!

the seamtress seems to think so. she told me she'd start them a little bigger and if i didn't like she can go smaller. i'll have to take pics. lol.
