beginner scrapbook ideas

Please post some ideas for a first attempt at scrapbooking, and any suggestions for a first timer - thanks

How about your e-pics?
Or pics from when you & DH were dating?
In articles I've read they say you should start with a recent event so it is fresh in your mind.

for me Christmas (or other holiday) is always easy!!

Pick some picutres that you want to use, look at the colors that are in the picture and then decide what kind of paper and embellishments you are going to use!!

Remember...your scrapbook is your own! How you choose to display your photos is your choice!!

I agree with the topic being fresh in your mind. When I first started researching this, everyone told me not to start with my wedding, since it's so important, etc. etc. Well, if I wait another few years, I'l never do it! I'll be onto the next current thing in my life - a house, baby, etc.

Once I finish the wedding album, I'll probably backtrack a little on the important things, and then cover current milestones. To me, it's freshest in my mind and I am able to reflect a lot more on the day, giving great details and care to what is important to us

I started with pets...and everyday events...like vacations too

for my first scrapbook i made one for my MOH who is having a baby girl. since i had no idea how to lay stuff out, i bought creative memories 'Snap Pack - It's a Girl'. they give you all of the pieces and loads of stickers and a little book that you can follow if you want with ideas. for my first scrapbook, i think it came out pretty good!!!

I started with holiday & birthday pictures since I had no idea what I was getting into or what on earth I was doing. Good thing too, I already ripped apart my first layouts to re-do.

I decided to go with stuff that’s fresh in my mind (I wanted to do wedding related anyway)
I have a bunch of ideas now, and I just have to execute them
- “with this ring” exchanging the rings
- “husband and wife”
- “the hora”
- “first dance” with lyrics
- “BM speech” with text
- “BP toast”
- family & friends – double spread

I can’t wait to get started

How many pages are standard for a scrapbook?

Helen...as many page as will fit in your scrapbook! the standard that comes with the scrapbook is 10 sheets...20 pages (back and front) but I always add more!!
