I don’t know why, especially since I am such a tough/strong person otherwise, but I fall apart when I have to go away and leave FH. When I went to Taiwan last year I cried when he dropped me at the airport and every morning when I talked to him on IM. When we were in Hawaii in Sept and he had to leave to come back home and I had to stay for work it was like someone died, I was crying so hard. And this morning when we said goodbye when he left for work, tears (I am leaving for CA this afternoon). I can maybe understand the Taiwan tears, as it was far away and for like a week and a half, but seriously, I am leaving for like 4 days to go to CA and I am hysterical. I wish I wasn't like this!

i am like that too! every few months i try and visit my parents in florida for the weekend and i always am so sad to leave him - i love and miss my parents but i really do miss him when we are apart! even if its only 2 or 3 days! im just so used to him being around since we live together - sleeping in a bed without him (and our dog ) is so strange!

I guess I am the odd one out here but I am so used to use being a apart that sometimes I dont even notice it.. dont get me wrong its horrible when we are not togther but half of the first years of our relationship I was living in boston and he was in NY, or I was in CT for the summers and he lived in nantucket... now I appreciate all the times we do get to spend together...

I hate it too, although I've gotten used to it -- FH was on a varsity sport in college and travelled a lot, plus we spent many school breaks apart too.

there's nothing wrong with that! it's not easy to leave the one you love when you're with them all the time! he's the other half of you... it's understandable that you're sad to leave!!! it'll go quick!

OMG you poor thing! I know how difficult it is to be apart!!!! I went on vacation with my friend over the summer to Malta and I was such a debbie downer for the first few days because I missed him so much... I felt like a piece of me was missing. I mean we spoke on the phone every day but I felt a void without him there!! I'll pray for you, and don't worry everything will be fine!

Re: Being away from FH
When I start looking for a job in Dec I jokingly say I am going to tell the company if I have to travel they have to pay for Fh to come with me. I know I will be busy all day long while I am in CA, but it's the night time, when him and I would normally lounge on the couch and then not having someone sleeping next to me that is hard. Which is weird because our first year of dating he live in NJ 2 hours away and we'd only see each other on the weekends. And although I missed him then I didn't cry when he left.

Re: Being away from FH
I guess I can't relate. I've been in a long distance relationship with FH (he's in VA, I'm here) since August 2005. In the beginning it was hard but now we're used to it. When he comes here on Tuesday, it will be 6 weeks since I've last seen him. And there were a few times we've gone even longer. But the way I look at it, we won't have to deal with it much longer so all is good.
I must admit though, the day he moved I fell apart and we weren't even an official couple at the time.
