Belize v. Cozumel

Belize v. Cozumel

Has anyone ever been to either of these places?? Our Cruise is taking us to both these ports. Apparently both ports have Mayan Ruins and FH really wants to see them! Does anyone know which port has BETTER MAYAN RUINS?!?

I've been to Cozumel, but never did the Mayan Ruins there, but I heard it's great to go. I have been to the Ruins in Belize and it was okay, but they have these bugs there, that were worse than mosquitos and we were miserable because we were getting eaten alive. People were going on the bus and waiting for the tour to end. We even bought bug spray from there and it didnt help. I wasnt a fan of Belize, but a friend of mine went there and she did a beach excursion instead and she loved it. I personally love Cozumel, I have been there 4 times.

i actually went to Belize a few years ago on vacation and the Mayan ruins were amazing! it is such an incredible place and the people are so nice - you're going to love it there!

i have never been to cozumel, but the ruins in Belize are really great!

i agree about the bugs! i came home with a lot of bug bites!

I guess thats what ruined it for me, but I do have pictures from there and the ruins themselves were great.

We went to both! Cozumel was very nice has great scuba diving, the ruins were awesome if yo go to tulum do a tour and the beach is white sand and amazing. Lots of iguana's. I didnt really like belize alot of markets and pushy sales people ot for me.

I've been to Cozumel and loved it. I've never been to Belize but have friends who have and did not recommend it.

I am going to Belize for my HM and they tell you to bring bug spray but it really depends more on where you are and the time of year. Also if you are docking in Belize City...yes it will be more hectic than if you are out on one of the Cayes....I am scheduled for a tour of the Altun Ha ruins.....they have been written up in many magazines as a must see if you are going to Belize.....Also if you decide to do Mayan Ruins in Mexico then maybe try a tubing trip through the caves in Belize...I heard it is an amazing tour.
