we're doing it - got all the bells with little poems - all ready to go - what the hell right? i figured it is better than glasses and dishes getting broken from people banging them with knives

I am a touch a glass kind of gal too. One person with an exuberant bell could really be a damper, you know!

Soke girls on here said that you can't really hear those bells... I would take 'silent' bells over banging glasses!

Re: Bells for tables
I did the whole bell thing for my wedding, but the bells were so tiny that you couldn't hear them ring--lol I ordered them on line and when I got them there was like 50 to a pack and I was laughing cause you couldn't even hear them all ring, I just figured I would use them anyway for decoration for the tables. I guess the only way to hear them ok will be not to get the plastic ones!

They can tap their glasses
I went to a wedding last week and they used the small bells. Hardly anyone used them but instead everyone was tapping on their glasses. I would not get them. JMO

Perfectly said! The sound of the clanging at other people's weddings makes me nuts! I'm definietely using bells!!!

Re: Bells for tables
I think you have your answer already but let me just add that if the bells aren't loud enough to satisfy your guests thirst for noise, you can bet they'll be picking up that fork and aiming for their water glass in seconds anyway! You know, just in case you didn't hear the bells.

Re: Bells for tables
I am doing bells, but they are also my placecard holdes...
you could use at the end of the ceremony if you don't want to use them on tables. Have everyone salute you and your new husband by ringing their bells! I figure when everyone is ringing in unison you'll definitely be able to hear them! Just an idea!
