Re: belly dancer

I'm Middle Eastern, and it's traditional to have a Belly Dancer perform at big events...especially weddings. It's just a form of entertainment.

The Belly Dancer would come and 'perform' for approximately 20 minutes - she'll do a dance or two.

I saw a belly dancer at a wedding and did not like it at all. It just didn't fit in at a wedding. She dances around and was shoving her breasts in the guest faces. Alot of the women went to the ladies room and hung out until she left. It takes to much time away from the party. Some people want to be the entertainment, no watch one.

sounds like it would be nice if it was a tradition thing, but to just have one might seem a little out of place...maybe at the bridal shower to instruct how to belly dance?

Re: belly dancer

I take belly dance classes and my friend had a belly dancer at her bachelorette party giving lessons.... it was great! I am thinking of doing the same...
