I found out from a friend of mine who knows their publicist that it was ALL a set up...cancelled wedding and everything....to get publicity for their 2 movies. (Gigli and Jersey Girl)...and Jersey Girl hasn't come out yet!

Wait, are you saying that their entire relationship is a set up for publicity, or just the cancelled wedding?

The reason I ask is that Kevin Smith has been talking for MONTHS about how great the chemistry between Ben and Jen is - I believe he said something to the effect of 'it's great to be filming two actors that are playing people just falling in love, when the actors themselves are falling in love' or something like that. Anyway, Kevin's not really an industry whore, you know? It's not his style to be part of a huge set up. And besides, Jen dies in the first half hour of Jersey Girl (originally part of the script, this has nothing to do with Gigli) - who cares if she's in it or not?

Give Jersey Girl a chance! Pretty Please? Kevin wrote it, I just know it's going to be good!!!

I was not being sarcastic, I am just curious, because you dont see them together much on TV anymore. I was wondering if the whole thing was a lie, or if they truly are still together.
