best bottles for feeding the occasional pumped breast milk

I registered for avent but Im not sure If anything else is better. I mostly will be breastfeeding and I would like to pump as well so that Dh and others can feed the baby.

Also I heard that its not good to introduce any bottle until 3 months of age to avoid nipple confusion? Is this true? I cant see doing this, I was surprised to hear this.

I did the Dr. Browns bottles and had no problems whatsoever. She is 8 months and I don't think she's ever had a gas pain after eating. We had to supplement with a few bottles of formula in the very beginning and then she was getting breast alternating with breast milk in bottles, right from the very beginning. She never had any problem going back and forth. Lucky for me, because I was back to work when she was 6 weeks old.

Molly would only use the Playtex nursers. Just make sure you use a silicone nipple, NOT latex. Silicone is better for bf'd babies, or so said the LC I went to.

I heard to wait to introduce the bottle after a month, not 3 months. A lot of woman are back to work before 3 months. So I would think that you have to introduce it before then.

I love the Playtex nursers. And I was told to use the latex nipples, not the silicone?

Which liners do you use for the Platex nursers? The ones that look like cups or plastic bags? I've tried the plastic bags, but have had trouble squeezing out the air -- I'd love advice on that!

I use the pre-formed liners, the one that looks like a cup. And a tip for squeezing the air out is to have enough ounces in the bottle. The less ounces you have the harder it is to get all of the air out. On the 4 ounce bottles make sure you put at least 3-3.5 ouces and on the 8 oz bottles make sure you put at least 5 ounces in. That will help in pushing the air out.

I registered for Avent bottles, but Andrew gagged on the nipples that came with them. They were too long.

He ended up doing really well with the Playtex Nurser bottle and silicone nipple.

I introduced him to bottled breastmilk after 3 weeks.

We use the Avent bottles and Claire took them very well when we first introduced them at about 3 weeks. But just some advice, once you offer a bottle be consistent and give one a least once every other day. We forgot for a long weekend and she refused the bottle after that. I went thru alot of tears getting her to re-take it at 3 months when I had to go back to work.

I use the advent bottles. He took the bottle very well and goes back and forth with no problem. I introduced the bottle at 3 weeks. It is great because now DH helps out with the feedings and I can catch up with some much needed rest. We usually give a bottle everyday or at least every other day.
